Welcome to October 2008 GOOFY DRIVE!
October
is buzzing with all kinds of activities – all part of learning!
In Religion,
we are studying the FOUR MARKS of the Roman Catholic Church. They are
One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. October is the month of the Rosary
and so Mary is given a place of honor on our Prayer Table. We try to
say a decade of the rosary every day.
In Mathematics,
we are just beginning to learn the process of re-grouping. This is a
difficult concept to grasp. With time and practice, we will become pros
at being able to re-group ones, tens, hundreds.
In Science,
we are now working in Unit C, “Physical Science: ”Matter and It’s
Properties”. There are interesting activities that relate to the lessons
taught. Some students were proud to inform me that they had done some of
these activities with their parents. Good home re-enforcement, I’d say.
In keeping with last year’s tradition at
Goofy Drive, each student has a buddy from Mrs. Frieda’s first grade
class. Buddies meet once a month for
a variety of activities related to the seasons. Our first meeting will
take place on Monday, October 20th.
A note of thanks to Mrs. Meg Perez for
graciously accepting to be the classroom “MOM”. You could soon be
hearing from her.
Halloween is just around the corner and
Goofy is very excited, so are the children. HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!
Goofy Drive’s teacher says, “FAREWELL”!
