HAPPY NOVEMBER
EVERYONE! It’s been a while since a folder has gone home!
Please remember
we go outside twice a day, every day. The kids need to be dressed
appropriately for the weather. During the colder winter months, we
usually eat snack indoors then head outside for 10 minutes.
Just a reminder
for everyone: All test and quiz papers inside the Friday folders
are supposed to be signed and returned the following week. They go
into an in-class folder. I try to stamp the test and quiz papers to
remind you, but sometimes I correct them at home, and don’t have my
stamp pad and stamp with me. I appreciate your help and
cooperation.
Reminders have
gone home regarding parent/teacher conferences later this month.
Please remember appointments are 15 minutes long. The door may be
closed when you arrive, which means another parent could be
conferencing with me. Please respect the privacy of others, and
only knock when it is your turn to meet.
Miss Lavoie has
confirmed our next 4th grade field trip. On Tuesday
January 13th we will be gong to the Amoskeag Fishways in
Manchester. The center has a fairly new exhibit and hands on
workshop about electricity and Thomas Edison. We will be going by
car to Manchester, and our room mom will be contacting people to
chaperone. If you would like to learn more about the
trip/destination, the web site is:
www.amoskeagfishways.org This will not be an all day trip. We
will leave school around 10:15am and return around 12:30pm.
PLEASE DO NOT ORDER HOT LUNCH ON THIS DAY. DETAILS ABOUT
WHERE WE WILL EAT LUNCH ARE STILL SKETCHY, BUT WE WILL
NOT BE HERE DURING OUR REGULAR LUNCH TIME (12:05-12:30)
Permission slips with exact times and fees for the trip will go home
after Thanksgiving break.
On Tuesday
November 25th, the fourth graders will be in charge of
the Thanksgiving prayer service at church. Please join us if you
can. Remember the kids should bring in a canned good/non-perishable
food item to donate to the Corpus Christi Food Pantry.
Thanks to
everyone who sent in donations for the fire victims across the
street from the school! Mrs. LaFleur told the teachers at our
recent faculty meeting, that over $500 was collected. The money was
used to purchase gift cards to places like Shaws and Walmart so that
household items could be replaced and food could be purchased.
Also, a big
thank you to all of you who made donations to purchase a gift card
for residents at Mary’s House here in Nashua. The fourth graders
collected $120 which was used to purchase a Target gift card. I’m
sure it will be put to good use. Your generosity is appreciated.
Have a great
weekend everyone!
Stay warm and
dry!
Mrs. Toohey
