Dear Parents and Students:
Happy November! The time has come to be thankful for all the
wonderful things that we have been given in our life. Let us be grateful
for our families and friends, for all the wonderful things that we have
in our homes, and especially in our hearts that we can share with those
we care for.
The children in the class have worked very hard with their
Boo-graphics and scary stories during the last month. Sharing their
readings and their writings has been a wonderful experience for all of
us. Thank you to all who contributed to our Halloween Party.
The first quarter is ending on Friday, October 31, and report cards
should be given out some time in the next week or so. . Use these report
cards as a measuring stick to see what “lengths” your children need to
go to better achieve, or if they have reached their full “measure”.
There is always room for improvement in all areas. Just as an
observation, I believe that math is where the children seem to be the
weakest. It is not for lack of knowing the concept being taught, but
remembering the basics: facts, following what “signs” are used in the
problem, and looking over the work before they hand it in. Please
encourage your children to double-check their work and review their
facts. They should know this by sixth grade.
