Mission and Vision

Our History

Holy Infant Jesus School began in 1909 with two sisters and a few classes.  Because the parish had large families of French-speaking children, Reverend Millette recruited the Sisters of Holy Cross.  They could both teach and keep alive the French-Canadian language and customs.

In 1973, Nashua Catholic Parishes consolidated into a school system referred to as the Nashua Catholic Regional Schools (NCRS).  A school board was formed with representatives from each parish.

In 1992, the School returned to a parish institution with its own school board and is presently known as Infant Jesus School.

Vision Statement

Because our school is a Catholic school every person is responsible for promoting a truly Christian atmosphere. We, at Infant Jesus School, believe in the power of education.  As we look to the future, we will graduate students who are able to demonstrate the following abilities:

  1. To contribute service to the Church, to the community, and to the larger world community.

  2. To use God’s gifts to one’s fullest potential, to bring out the best in oneself, in others, and to forgive others unselfishly.

  3. To integrate the belief in love, dignity, and respect for all into actions that promotes peace, global understanding, and equality.

  4. To accept and appreciate individual differences.

  5. To exhibit a code of ethics in academics and social interactions.

  6. To assess individual capabilities, limitations, and areas for further development with honesty and confidence.

  7. To enjoy education both formally and informally.

  8. To think independently.

  9. To make decisions with intelligence and confidence.

  10. To preserve, protect, and use natural resources in a responsible manner.

  11. To feel comfortable with new technology and to have the confidence to experiment with new ideas.

It is our goal to instill these educational and Christian values in the graduates of Infant Jesus School. Through these graduates, future generations will be assured of the positive power of education and the strength of Christian beliefs.

Religious Practice

Because our school is a Catholic School in its entirety, the responsibility for the atmosphere for the “teachable moments” of religious education can, in no way, be confined either to the teachers of religion or to the classes of religion.  Every person is responsible for promoting a truly Christian atmosphere.

Basic Catholic Doctrine is an integral part of the curriculum and is developed in keeping with the psychological and spiritual development of the child.  Lived doctrine permeates every aspect of the life of the school.  Infant Jesus School provides ongoing religious education.  However, the individual parishes are responsible for the sacramental preparations of all our children attending our school.

All students are required to participate in all liturgies, classroom prayer, and other aspects of the spiritual life of the school.  The teaching of Religion is a content subject in which all students must participate.  We remain respectful of students’ diverse religious backgrounds.  However, all students, regardless of their religious affiliation, must meet the religion requirements endorsed by the school.
