November Newsletter

Religion Unit 2 - We will be learning about how God made all people and He made each of us unique and special!  We will learn about how we can share God's love with our families and our friends.  We will continue to learn about our 5 senses and how they help us to discover the wonderful world God gave us!

Phonics Unit 3 - In Unit 3, students will learn to recognize, write & know the sounds of letters l, d, c, n, g, and w.  We will review the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts and the beginning and ending sounds of words.  They will continue reading their leveled readers and using their "reading finger" to point to each word as they read to help with memory.  Wilson Fundations continues to be learned to review letters and letter formation when writing. (ex. Sky line, plane line, grass line & worm line.)

Math Ch. 3 & 4 - Students will continue to learn about positions such as below, above, under, behind, left & right.  The most difficult for tudents to learn at this age is the difference between left and right so please continue this vocabulary at home as well.  In Chapter 4, students will learn to identify and write numbers 0-10.

Social Studies - We will be completing our unit on learning about America and its many symbols.  We will then move on to our unit on Jobs.  They will learn about their important job as a student, the jobs of our community helpers, and about some differences of jobs long ago and jobs today.  These Social Studies magazines that get sent home at the end of the units are great tools to read together at home!

We had a wonderful time on our field trip to Nashua Senior Crossing and during all of our Halloween festivities!  Be on the lookout for an upcoming e-mail from Mrs. Beran regarding a Thanksgiving celebration!  If you're looking to be a volunteer for field trips, please complete the Shield the vulnerable training.  If you have questions about this, please send me an e-mail! :)
