September Newsletter

Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Roehm and I’m so excited to get to know you and your child!  Kindergarten is a very special grade and provides a great foundation for their first formal years of education.  It always amazes me to see the significant progress and growth throughout the year.  I know that this year will ROCK!

Please return your child’s daily folder each day as this will serve as our main means of communication.  Please check and empty this daily. Work completed at school serves as a great tool to continue the learning at home!

Please consider signing up to complete the “Shield the Vulnerable” online training.  This course, along with notarized paperwork, will allow you to volunteer in the classroom and attend class field trips.  I am hoping to go on some field trips using cars instead of a bus but that will be dependent on our approved volunteers. Please visit www.rcbmnh.org/volunteer

What are we working on this month:

Math: Students will learn how to sort and identify shapes.

Religion: We will celebrate the gifts that God has given us!

Phonics: We will learn how to count syllables and recognize rhyming words.

Science: We will be experimenting and cooking with apples this month!

Phonics Practice:

Please work on letter recognition this month of both uppercase letters.  This will be the first step to understanding phonics!  We will work on letter sound/recognition throughout the year.
